St. Gabriel’s feast falls on February 27th. Sadly he was removed from the universal calendar (at least for the New Mass) during the liturgical reforms of the 1970s. His feast is thus now restricted to the Passionist Order and Italy. However, votive masses in his honour are often said on this day by devoted preists throughout the world. Pope Benedict’s Motu Proprio on the Extra-ordinary Form has also increased devotion to St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows. Why not ask your priest to offer a votive Mass in his honour, on his feast or on any ferial day? Included in this section are a selection of prayers composed by St. Gabriel and traditional prayers to him, as well as the litany and hymns.
